Onboard/Offboard Video by Manufacturer

The method in which on/offboard video is set differs by manufacturer; please see below

Instructions

Regardless of what machine you are using BIOS needs to be accessed. (Press del/F2 during BOOT)

Follow the paths below for each of the specific manufacturers 

  1. ASUS

    • IntelRCSetup > Miscellaneous Configuration > Active Video

  2. SuperMicro

    • PCIe/PCI/PnP > VGA Priority > On/Offboard

  3. Tyan

    • CORRECT = Platform Configuration > Miscellaneous Configuration > Active Video

    • WRONG = Advanced > Onboard Device Configuration > 

(The WRONG method will disable VGA all together defaulting the system to OFFBOARD; this could result in a CMOS reset should the GPU ever be removed)
