Pre-requisite : Bootable USB with Ubuntu 20.04 ISO

Step 1 - Ubuntu 20.04 ISO Installation

 Ubuntu 20.04 ISO Installation

Step 1 - Boot using the 'UEFI:' method on whatever device you have the Ubuntu 18.04 ISO on. Press enter on the boot option to automatically boot the ISO file on the device.

You can press <F10> to access boot menu while the system is powering on, or you can go to BIOS and manually select the boot option under 'Save & Exit'. For the example below, I went to BIOS, and selected my 'UEFI: Sony Storage Media ...' since it was on a Sony-brand USB stick.

Step 2 - You should reach the Ubuntu install menu. Press <Enter> on the first option for 'Install Ubuntu Server'. Lots of boot messages will appear, wait until you reach the language selection page.

Step 3 - Select your language in the installer menu

Step 4 - Select 'Continue without updating' option in the next page

Step 5 - Confirm your keyboard settings by pressing <Enter> while 'Done' option is highlighted.

Step 6 - Select 'Done' again in the next page asking about 'Network connections'

Step 7 - Select 'Done' again in the next 'Configure proxy' page

Step 8 - Leave as-is for the 'Configure Ubuntu archive mirror' page, and hit 'Done' again

Step 9 - DO NOT keep default, and press down key to select 'Custom storage layout'

Step 10 - Select 'use as boot device'

Step 11 - Setup the 3 partitions:

  • 500m /boot - ext4
  • 10g SWAP -

<missing picture>, for SWAP, put in 10g, Format: SWAP, and then Mount should be nulled or show 'SWAP' as it creates the mount type already; and then hit 'Create'.

Step 2 - NVIDIA Driver and GUI installation
