General instructions for FCLGA3647 Socket CPU installation

DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN TIGHTENING THE SCREWS TO AVOID DAMAGES TO THE CPU OR CPU PINS.

  3. Always start with CPU0 first. Remove the CPU Socket protection cap. Locatethe CPU socket’s gold arrow (guide pin).

NOTE: Only new heatsinks comes with pre-applied thermal grease. If heatsink is removed, clean processor and heatsink using an alcohol solvent. Apply new thermal grease before re-installing heatsink.

  4. Carefully flip the heatsink. Align the heatsink with the CPU socket by the guide pins and make sure the gold arrow is located in the correct direction. Then place heatsink onto the top of the CPU socket.

  5. To secure the heatsink, use a T30 Security Torx to tighten the screws in a sequential order (1→2→3→4).
NOTE1: When disassembling the heatsink, loosen the screws in reverse order (4→3→2→1).
NOTE2: Do not excessively-tighten screws. High torque could result in motherboard CPU damage.

  6. Repeat steps #1→5 to install the second processor and heatsink.
  7. (If applicable) Place the CPU air duct back and screw it to the chassis.
