Removing the Chassis Cover (TS4-1686449 / TS4-187485002 / TS4-1910483)
Before you remove the cover
It is okay if you remove chassis cover while the system is powered on if you are checking chassis fans or PCI-e component activity. If the chassis cover is removed while system is plugged into power, it will log an alert in the IPMI event logs for ‘chassis intrusion’. If you plan on installing or removing internal hardware components from the motherboard or PCI-e riser, make sure:
System is powered off
Unplug all power supply modules
Press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds to clear the power safely
Step-by-step guide
Remove the two screws that hold down the top cover (marked in RED)
You will need both hands to push down on both latch buttons (marked in BLUE) with your thumb, then use the rest of your hands to pull back on the cover until it unlocks. Once unlocked, you can lift the cover off from the chassis
