Safely packing workstations in box
Steps on safely packing up a personal workstation for transport.
Step-by-step guide
- Layer dense/tough packaging material at bottom of box for the workstation to safely rest on
- (IMPORTANT) Insert system with motherboard components resting downwards onto the motherboard (for a majority of our systems, window side is facing up)
After system is packed, be sure to note/mark the side where the box is facing up towards if later strapping the box to a pallet. - Apply packaging around the workstation; between the workstation and the sides of the box
- Apply more packaging material on top
- Layer dense/tough packaging material
- Ensure the box closes evenly, then add more tape on all edges to ensure box will not accidentally open during transit.
Example of box packed on pallet here: Freight Shipping Quick Reference (Migrated to ZDKB) (be sure box+system is packed where the PCI-e components are resting safely onto the motherboard in step #2)
