When purchasing a new system or cluster, preparing the power requirements is integral.  Power draw from the systems is key in addition to ensuring there is enough power available from the power source/circuit to fulfill the wattage needed.


System Power

All Exxact Systems feature auto-switching power supplies that can take 120V-240V.  Most systems use the default power cables are C13 → Nema 5-15 or C13 →  C14.

Electrical Circuits

Here is a chart of the most common circuits below.


 

Power that can be provided by each circuit. (Be Aware: there can be multiple outlets for a single circuit)

120V 20A NEMA 5-20 and L5-20 Electrical Outlets - up to 1920W

120V 30A NEMA L5-30 Electrical Outlets - up to 2880W

208V 20A NEMA L6-20 Electrical Outlets - up to 3328W

208V 30A NEMA L6-30 Electrical Outlets - up to 4992W

3-Phase 208V NEMA L21-20 Electrical Outlets - up to 5700W

3-Phase 208V CS 8365 Electrical Outlets - up to 14400W


Calculating Power Draw

In order to determine what circuit you need, you would first need to determine the amount of power draw coming from a system or cluster.  Most components power consumption can be found online, typically from the manufacturer's site.

For example, we will examine the power draw for the:
