Tools Required

Step 1 - Slide CPU into CPU carrier/guide frame

You should feel and hear a subtle *click* when it reaches the bottom of the guiding frame.

Be careful not to touch CPU pins.

1 - CPU drop and click.mp4

Step 2 - Lower CPU guide frame until both outer corners click

2 - Lower CPU guide frame.mp4

Step 3 - Screw hold-down frame in order of 1-2-3

Lowest torque setting on your power screwdriver. If performed by hand, do not overly tighten.

3 - 123 Install hold-down frame.mp4

Step 4 - Check for even torque

I am using a unique T20 screwdriver bundled with some AMD processor boxes. It is not completely necessary, but this specialized tool ensures each screw that fastens the CPU hold-down tray are evently torqued. Video below shows I was able to tighten each screw down a bit more after my lowest power screwdriver torque setting.

If you are doing this with no power tools, make sure to tighten each screw evenly, but still able to unscrew the CPU hold-down guide screws in case you need to remove the AMD CPU again.

4 - Torque check.mp4

Done.
