Enermax CPU Cooler Power Status Check

This is only to diagnose whether the Enermax CPU Cooling Block is obtaining adequate power from the motherboard. Just because the RGB lighting on the Cooling Block does not necessarily always mean it is functioning properly.

Correct RGB Lighting Display

  • Cycles all colors rapidly and consistently

Faulty RGB Lighting Display

This means the motherboard BIOS setting is not set to allocate additional power to CPU pins to account for a Liquid (water) Pump.

  • Slow color cycles, primarily on Red/Orange/Yellow colors

  • Eventually no longer lights up minutes after system POST’s (powers on)

Example of how to set Motherboard CPU fan pins for WPump power in BIOS

Immediately after powering on your system (or restarting), press ‘F2’ or ‘Delete’ key as prompted to have system boot to BIOS menu instead of proceeding to load the Operating System.

These settings are typically found under some sort of hardware monitor or manager tab in your BIOS menu. I go through the entire process from accessing BIOS, navigating and changing the settings to ‘W_PUMP’, and then saving the settings. System will reboot once settings are saved in the ‘Exit’ tab.
