Preferebly thinner/narrow bit for smaller screws

Removing PCI-e Device

Ignore the poor editing, please look at highlights and red arrows. I provided a couple views on how to to remove the PCI-e device while following the steps below:

  1. Remove screw that mounts PCI-e device bracket to the chassis

  2. Press down on the PCI-e lock tab to unlock and lift the PCI-e device out of its slot

    • Without pressing down on this tab, you will cause severe damage to the PCI-e device and the Motherboard PCI-e slot, arguably the 2 most costly parts of the system (especially in downtime)

Installing PCI-e Device

  1. Make sure contacts from PCI-e device are properly aligned with Motherboard PCI-e slot and insert card

  2. Press down on the PCI-e device firmly until it clicks, this means the contact has locked into the motherboard

  3. Screw/fasten the PCI-e device bracket to the chassis

 

Done.
