Enable M.2 Carrier on PCIe SLOT9 (J16) (TS4-1598415)

To get this M.2 carrier containing an M.2 drive to be seen in BIOS. By default, it does not show up in the boot options after CMOS battery reset.

Set BIOS Motherboard IIO on Socket 1 to x8x8

  1. Get to BIOS menu
  2. Socket Configuration → IIO Configuration → Socket1 Configuration → IOU0 (IIO PCIe BR1) → x8x8
  3. Save changes and Reset

After rebooting system, you can see that both the 'legacy (only shows the device name)' and 'UEFI (shows OS prefixing the device name)' boot options for the M.2 drive.

What goes down, must come up? (Optional?)

In order to have the stuff above work, I set something to split into 8x8, meaning there could be performance issues with the slots adjacent to the M.2 carrier. To be sure, I set the other Socket 0 to use x16.
